APT is a specialist for the following British sports car engines: BMC 'A' & 'B' series, Triumph 1147-1500 and the 2.0 & 2.5 liter 6 cylinder engines. TR2-TR4A we offer cams and valve train components. We keep a huge stock of parts, offer machine shop services, which includes flow bench testing, camshaft measuring/evaluation, computerized engine dyno to 800HP All APT cams are ground in house using new 'masters' which we design and have carefully ground on a CNC grinder, meaning to say we do not copy a cam to make a master as many (most) cam suppliers do.

How long have you been in business?
We have been in business for 28 years. Originally as a partnership between David Anton and David Vizard, but owned soley by David Anton since 1989
What is your primary product or service?
Parts and service for British built car engines. Engines are all we do, but we cover very extensively everything you would need for anything from a stock rebuild to full race.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Both David Anton and David Vizard come from an engineering back ground and many of the products we offer have come from our extensive research using a flow bench and a computerized push button dyno which we had running in 1983 David Vizard is an author with over 40 books and 4000 magazine articals to his credit produced over the last 48 years. So natural progresion probably best describes the introduction into this business.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We design and grind our own cams for example, almost nobody does that in any automotive based business, and certainly there are only a couple of examples in the British car market world wide. Rimflo valves are another example of our innovation, these high quality stainless steel valves are a special design which allows them to flow very well in the normal direction, but very badly in the wrong direction. They are also known as "Anti-reversion" valves.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have just one location and no plans to move or expand.

What are your hours of operation?
8.30 AM to 6.30 PM Monday-Friday. We are often here Saturday and Sunday but only by prior arrangement. Everyone is welcome to the 10 cent tour around our shop, but we do not have a show room.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
Repeat business probably says the most, we have customers that have been with us for over 25 years. Social online networking is not something we get involved in (no time for one thing!) but I understand from the people that do that we always figure highly in any discussion related to our area.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
From Zig Ziglars mother: "to your children more attention pay to what you do than what you say!"
